Microsoft Visual Studio Code

Visual Studio Code is a powerful open-source text editor from Microsoft, available for Windows, Mac and Linux. It’s primarily intended as a source code editor, and therefore includes a lot of development tools, such as GitHub integration. But it’s also useful in general for text editing needs, such as fixing CSV files or making edits to XML files. It includes a large marketplace of third-party extensions to meet any need, from Powershell integration to auto-formatters to debuggers and more.

Visual Studio Code is Deakin’s preferred and recommended text editor.
